With the Class of 2009 Graduation right around the corner, I've been busy getting announcements designed and printed for my seniors. Here's the first one to come back from the lab - Jake, one of my Rifle Seniors. His family chose a flip/flop card (front and back like a postcard) done with the dramatic black & white images and printed on a rich linen paper. All I can say is WOW!
btw, last name was blurred out on purpose.
There is just something about a brand new baby that is...well...irresistible.
Meet Tristan -
I'm sure you all can guess that the Holiday season is the busiest time of year for photographers. Actually leading up to the holidays is really busy for me because the fall is high school senior season and the time of year I do my big preschool shoots as well. I knew I have been busy. My very full calendar tells me I have been busy - my sore butt from sitting at this computer WAY to long tells me I have been busy. I guess I really didn't realize exactly HOW busy I had been until I looked at my image numbers for October. The software that I use to transfer the images from the camera cards to my computer keeps a running tally how many images were downloaded in a given month. I looked at October's number and had to pick my teeth off the floor -
3069 (!!!)
uh, yeah...no wonder I am tired and I have a feeling I'm going to be sitting here weeding through images till my eyeballs fall out of my head.
SO...with that said - November is completely full and I am not booking any new December appts at this time. As I work through my workload, I will open up December session times so call me and get on my December list. Note that December sessions will not have prints back in time for Christmas. Better yet - Let's book something in January when all the crazy holiday stuff is behind us both! Give me a call and you can be the first on my January calendar! Parents with newborns - I always try to squeeze you in somewhere since newborns just can't wait so give me a call and I'll see what I can do!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
Toddlers and two year olds make a portrait session...well...interesting to say the least and recently I had five of them come in all in the same week. Yes, I lived through it but boy, was I wore out! Here's a giant sneak peek of all the fun we had!
Kyler & Kaylee....
This one makes me laugh!
Here Fishy...Fishy....
Miss Rainey...
This one is my favorite!
Miss Taylor...
Wade who is a brand new one year old!...
ohhh...Cake...YUM!!
And an outtake - here is Miss Taylor with her "I know you are trying to take my picture so I am refusing to look at you"
ah, yes the joys of toddlerhood - *smile!*
When Christen booked her location session for the last day in October (because that was all I had left) I was seriously doubting that we would even be able to go outside - the weather at the end of October is always so crappy. Mother Nature held out for us though and the day was beautiful - chilly but a beautiful fall day. There were even a few leaves still left on the trees.
ok, so you've seen me use this "pose" for alot of my seniors but there is something about this spot and the angle of the sun and the lights in their eyes....WOW!
(and you would never know that Christen was FREEZING when we were doing this series in her short sleeved shirt - LOL!)
There is nothing more precious, more pure, or more new than a newborn just a few days old. It took some time and patience to get Baby Morgan happily sleeping but once we did...well, the images speak for themselves.
Yep, it only takes one word to describe this family - FUN! Ella, Connor and Finn made my day with their smiles, stories and giggles. Mom and Dad I hope these images make you smile. (and I can't wait for you to see the rest!!!)
There is nothing like three little boys (and a tag along friend who made great faces behind me to get everyone to smile) to get the studio hopping with energy. Thanks guys for coming in and allowing me to update your family photo and catch these busy boys in action again!
Well, her name isn't really Curly Sue but it easily could be with all those gorgeous curls! Little Miss Alexus is now a year old and it was time for her last Milestones Baby session. It has been really fun watching her grow this last year just as I did her big brother Max who I have also photographed since he was just a few weeks old.
It happens every year - at least one of my seniors gets rained out. Unfortunately that rainy day landed on Christian's session day. Actually it wasn't raining but it had rained and SNOWED in the days and nights prior and it was just too stinkin' cold to be thinking about outside photos. Even if the sun would have decided to peek out for awhile it wouldn't have helped us because Christian was coming up from Rifle - it wasn't like he could just hop in the car and come on over if there was a break in the weather. We postponed for a week and hoped for the best. It worked! Our session day was picture perfect. We didn't have as much outside greenery left at this late date in October but hey, we'll take what we can get. Enjoy the peek!
I've known both these girls since they were knee high to a grasshopper. Wow! I can't believe how grown up they are getting. You watch your own children grow up everyday but you forget that everyone else's kids do the same. The next thing you know you turn around and you're like "wow, when did that happen?" Thanks Skylar & Sydni for a fun morning!
A big thanks to all my clients that keep me SUPER busy this time of year. I am so busy in fact that I am a bit behind - yikes, ok more than a bit - and my calendar is very full for the next 5 weeks. This means that I am now starting a waiting list for those who haven't already booked and want sessions done in time for prints to be delivered by Christmas. As I work my way through my giant pile of images, I will open up additional sessions times in November for those on the list. If Christmas in not your goal, then you can have first choice of a wide open December or January. Those with newborns or babies on my Milestone's plan - don't worry, I have saved spots just for you!
Sunday was Colt's turn and we thought we were going to have to postpone the outdoor session because of the weather. It began sprinkling just as he arrived and within a few moments it was downpouring. We went ahead and started on his studio things and within an hour the clouds broke and the sun came out. Welcome to Colorado in the fall - if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes and it will change. Everything was wet but I can deal with wet. So out we went and I love what we captured. The rain made the air fresh and the colors so vibrant.
Thanks Colt, it was fun! (and I won't raz you too badly that I've known you since you were 5 and have some great blackmail photos to prove it. Wow, a senior...you made it ... and you are making me old.)
This time of year I usually spend every weekend working with my high school seniors - trying to capture everything about them that makes them THEM and commemorate their senior year in images. Parents would probably say that we are commemorating that they actually made it to their senior year. I agree - I've got a sophomore and sometimes I wonder. Last Saturday was spent with Dorina. We had a great time and took tons of images - here are a few. Thanks Dorina for a great day and we got done just in time to beat the bad weather - wheh!
Wow! Look at these fall colors!! I love the look of the red and yellow leaves.
The age of 4 months is one of those weird in between ages. They are certainly not that tiny, curly, sleepy newborn anymore but they aren't quite the smiley social butterfly that you see at 7 months either. Miss Keylee came in right at 4 month and while she wasn't much into smiling that day, we did capture some precious moments to remember this stage before she outgrows it. Look Mom! She flashed one great smile during the session and I caught it!
and if you wait long enough - these little ones will still go to sleep for you *smile*.
